Inauguration of the Second Round of the PHCs Services for IDPs Host Communities

The Federal Ministry of Health, represented by the General Administration of the Primary Health Care, announced the launch of the second round of the project to provide Primary health care services to displaced people and war-affected communities for six months from June to November 2025 in cooperation with the World Health Organization and funded by British aid.

The Acting Director of the General Administration of the Primary Health Care, Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Abdullah, stressed in preparation for the inauguration at the Administration Hall in Kassala State with the participation of the Acting Director of Maternal and Child Health, Amal Mahmoud, the Director of the Expanded Program on Immunization, Ismail Al-Adani, the Acting Director of the Universal Health Coverage Project Abdul Azim, Wafa Muzammil, Director of the Partnerships Department of Universal Coverage, and the Acting Director of the Nutrition Program, Rania Ahmed, Director of Health Promotion Tawdad Abdullah Al-Khodr, and Hussein from the World Health, the importance of evaluating the first round, marking the start of the round The second, which targets 60 centers that provide basic health care services in the targeted states, pointing to the provision of an integrated package, including health promotion.

Wael Ahmed Faki / World Health Organization said that more than 500,000 citizens benefited from the services provided in the first round, cutting off the provision of services more in the second round by expanding the department, after the arrival of support to the targeted states with an increase in working cadres, expecting the number of centers to rise to 80 centers.

The acting director of planning and follow-up and project coordinator, Tayseer Al-Sadiq, revealed that 39% of the 196,675 people who frequent the centers are displaced people, out of a total of 501,904 beneficiaries, in ten states.
