Feel it: Cholera

The General Administration of Primary Health Care at the Federal Ministry of Health, represented by the Expanded Program on Immunization and the Department of Maternal and Child Health, announced the launch of the cholera vaccination campaign in Al-Rahad locality in North Kordofan State, starting from Wednesday, June 18, for a period of 10 days.

While the Federal Ministry of Health and the Government of Khartoum State launched at Omdurman Teaching Hospital the cholera vaccination campaign, targeting 2,611,040 citizens aged one year and above, distributed over 12 administrative units in 5 localities (Omdurman, Karari, Sharq Al Nile, Umbda, and Jabal Awlia).

90% of the infections was in Khartoum state, especially in Karari, Omdurman, and Ombada, followed by North Kordofan, Sennar, Gazira , White Nile, and River Nile.

The frequency of many citizens to take the vaccination, but the Ministry of Health confirmed that the vaccine is safe and effective, the immunity is given up to 65% and its high to 100% .

The Federal Chamber for vaccination campaign against cholera revealed that the preliminary coverage rate in 3 days until last Thursday 29% .

Cholera has given many lives, so everyone has to fight continuous ,this is not the responsibility of the Ministry of Health alone, but the responsibility of citizens, family and society.

The dose of vaccination against cholera is considered to be protected and prevented against the disease and passport to move anywhere in the freedom and protection for ourselves and others.
