The Federal Minister of Health reviews the health situation from inside his office in Khartoum

The Federal Emergency Operations Center held its meeting today, Tuesday, in the center’s hall at the Public Health Laboratory in Kassala city, with the participation of the Minister in charge, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, from inside his office at the ministry’s headquarters on Nile Street in Khartoum, reviewing the health situation in the country, and interventions from various departments.
The minister said that the two years of war witnessed many achievements in the health field, despite the challenges and difficulties, and noted that the next stage requires more effort and work, in terms of continuing to record infections with a number of epidemics, including cholera, dengue fever and others, in light of the movement of displacement and return and the water problem in the liberated areas.
The minister directed, to provide medicines and consumables well before the autumn, pointing to the launch of the campaign to combat disease vectors in Khartoum state, stressing the intervention and strongly to combat and for a long time, and added, “Budgets are less than the required need, calling for a meeting with organizations to support work during the autumn,” referring to a campaign to distribute mosquito nets to the states.
In addition, the epidemiological situation report revealed that 6 new cases of cholera were recorded, without death, bringing the cumulative to 59,542 infections ،including 1599 deaths, an increase in dengue fever cases, recording 13 new cases without deaths, while 6 states recorded 91 cases of measles, while a number of states recorded 26 new cases of hepatitis, bringing the cumulative to 714 infections, including 681 infections from Kassala state (rural Kassala)
