Sudan Chairs the African Group in Geneva

Sudan assumed the chairmanship of the African Group in Geneva as of April 15th.
During the annual meeting, the African ambassadors approved the transfer of the chairmanship to Sudan, represented by Permanent Representative Ambassador Hassan Hamid Hassan, in accordance with the rotating order of assuming the chairmanship among the ambassadors of membership states.
The African Union Permanent Mission in Geneva issued a circular to all geographical groups and member states announcing Sudan’s assumption of the chairmanship of the group.
Sudan’s leadership of the group coincides with several important events for Sudan and the continent in Geneva during the coming period, affirms Sudan’s role and commitments to its continent, Africa.
