Health Ministry Discusses Enhancing Health Cooperation with Qatar

The Federal Minister of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, met with the Qatari Minister of International Cooperation, Mrs. Maryam Al-Misnad, in the presence of the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Sudan, Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Sada, along with the leaders of the Federal Ministry of Health and the Qatari embassy staff.

The Minister of Health expressed his appreciation to the government and people of the State of Qatar for their continuous support to Sudan in international and regional forums, noting that Qatar stands by Sudan at the United Nations in defense of its sovereignty.

The Minister announced that a $5 million grant of essential life-saving medicines is on its way to Sudan. He stressed that the meeting discussed the effects of the war on the health system, including the damage caused to pharmaceutical supplies and health facilities due to violations by the Rapid Support Militias.

Qatari Minister of International Cooperation, Mrs. Maryam Al-Misnad directed that the upcoming projects will focus on reconstruction, especially in the areas of diagnostic centers for oncology, cardiology and other specialized services, with the aim of improving the health system and meeting urgent needs.
