Emergency Appeal for Sudan Launched with Participation of (32) Donor Countries

The emergency appeal launched by the Sudanese Red Crescent Society to assist Sudan in the current humanitarian crisis was launched at the headquarters of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in Geneva, Switzerland. The appeal was held with the participation of 32 donor countries.

During the meeting, attendees were briefed on the crisis in Sudan, and urgent humanitarian priorities were presented, including health, water, population movement-related assistance, and protection-related assistance.

The total requested budget amounted to (130) million dollars, including (80) million dollars for urgent interventions and (50) million dollars for long-term assistance.

It is worth noting that the Society’s delegation included Ms. Aida Al-Sayed Abdullah, Secretary-General of the Society; Barakat Fares, Director of International Cooperation; and Sami Mahdi, Director of Capacity Development of the Society.
