US State Department: Army’s Recapture of the Republican Palace Is a Significant Event

US State Department Spokesperson Tammy Barroso said that her country is following developments in Sudan, adding that the armed forces’ recapture of the Republican Palace buildings in Khartoum is a significant event.
In press comments during a press briefing published on the State Department’s website on Saturday, March 22, the State Department spokesperson indicated that the US State Department is monitoring developments in Sudan. “I think most of the world should be following this situation,” she said, adding, “It appears to be a significant event, and we are monitoring the situation and are aware of that.”
She confirmed to reporters that the Sudanese Armed Forces had recaptured the Republican Palace on Friday.
