Qatar Red Crescent Sends Additional Aid Package

The Qatar Red Crescent in Sudan has sent additional quantities of food supplies, estimated at approximately 2,000 baskets, provided by the Qatar Fund for Development and in partnership with Qatar Charity, to the city of El Obeid in North Kordofan State.

These quantities are part of the food aid distribution project for Sudan, funded by the Qatar Fund for Development and implemented in partnership with Qatar Charity. The project also includes six containers of dates and Ajwa dates to be distributed to displaced persons in various areas.

Dr. Salah Daak, Chairman of the Qatar Red Crescent in Sudan, expressed his happiness at the dispatch of these supplies to El Obeid, North Kordofan. He said that the city had been under siege for a long time, and its residents had been cut off from all supplies and logistical support for a long period, which had affected the health of citizens, especially vulnerable groups such as the elderly, pregnant and breastfeeding women, and children.

Daak explained that the aid comes in the form of a comprehensive package supporting health facilities, including hospital beds, intensive care units, and kidney dialysis units. He confirmed that an ambulance equipped with the latest equipment had been allocated to North Kordofan State.

He also expressed his thanks to the state government, the Sudanese Red Crescent, and the Humanitarian Aid Commission for facilitating the receipt and distribution of supplies to areas in need, in the presence of a representative from the Qatar Red Crescent.
