Federal Minister of Health Meets Governor of West Darfur State

The Federal Minister of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, affirmed his ministry’s commitment to deliver medicine supplies and providing health services to all citizens in various states of Sudan.

This came during his meeting in Port Sudan with the Governor of West Darfur State, Baharuddin Adam Karma, and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of a number of ministry leaders.

The minister explained that the meeting aims to coordinate health services in the state and overcome challenges related to the delivery of drug supply and the provision of health services. He also praised the efforts made by the medical staff working in West Darfur state despite the complex circumstances, stressing the importance of continuing to provide emergency services and providing medical care to the wounded of the battle of dignity.

The minister pointed to the importance of addressing the health situation in the states of Darfur and supporting the displaced in neighboring countries by providing malaria medicines and child immunizations, in addition to meeting the needs of expatriates to other states.

For his part, the Governor of West Darfur State reviewed the violations that affected health institutions in the state as a result of the attacks of the Militias, calling for the provision of more health services.
