EU rejects creation of parallel government in Sudan

The European Union renewed its commitment to the unity of Sudan, its territorial integrity and the sovereignty of the Sudanese people.
The European Union’s main spokesperson for foreign affairs and security policy, Anita Heber, said in a statement on Tuesday that the Rapid Support Forces’ plans to create a parallel government threaten to divide the country and jeopardize the democratic aspirations of the Sudanese people for an inclusive Sudanese process leading to the restoration of civilian rule.
She stressed that the European Union continues to impose restrictions on individuals or entities that undermine efforts to resume the political transition in Sudan.
