Criminal Investigations Department Seizes Currency Counterfeiting Site in Haj Youssef

The East Nile Investigations Department, led by the branch chief, raided a house in Haj Youssef used by the militia to counterfeit Sudanese currency.
A large printing machine with a scanner attached, a color printer used for counterfeiting, a quantity of colored ink, a color printer, counterfeit 500-pound banknotes, and papers used in printing currency stolen from currency minting factories were found.
Eyewitnesses reported that the militia was counterfeiting currency at the site, packing it into sacks, and distributing it.
Investigations are ongoing to apprehend the perpetrators and those collaborating with the militia in currency counterfeiting crimes.
