$36 million health insurance losses in Gezira State

The Director General of the National Health Insurance Fund , Dr. Farouk Nour Omar, concluded a two-day visit to Gezira State as part of the supervisory visits program of the Fund to learn about the liberated areas. The Director General of Health Insurance expressed his regret for the significant destruction suffered by health insurance institutions due to the rebel militia as part of its scheme targeting the people of Sudan. He reiterated the commitment to rehabilitate and maintain the affected institutions to promote health insurance objectives and stated that the total losses of the National Health Insurance Fund in all war-affected states amounted to $186.6 million, including $36 million in losses of health insurance on the island.

He announced the commitment to restore all health insurance institutions on the island within a month from now.
