Sovereignty Council mourns the athlete and diplomat, Ambassador Dr. Ali Gagarin

Head and members of the Transitional Sovereignty Council mourn with great sadness and sorrow the late, God willing, Ambassador Dr. Haider Hassan Haj Al-Siddiq (Ali Gaqarin), the former captain of the Sudanese national team and Al-Hilal Club, who passed away today in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, due to an illness that did not give him much time after a career full of giving in the fields of sports, diplomacy and public work.
The Sovereignty Council, while mourning him, mourns to the Sudanese people one of the most prominent symbols of Sudanese stature in the fields of sports, diplomacy and public work.
He is also one of the stars of Sudanese football in its golden age, and the most famous scorer in the Sudanese national team in the seventies.
He also worked as an ambassador in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he remained a role model in dedication and loyalty. May God have mercy on the deceased and cover him with His vast mercy, and inspire his family, friends and loved ones with patience, solace and good consolation. “To God we belong and to Him we shall return.”
