Jaber confirms the government’s keenness to bring peace and aid to its beneficiaries

Member of the Sovereignty Council, Assistant Commander-in-Chief, Lieutenant-General Ibrahim Jaber Ibrahim, confirmed that the Government of Sudan was keen to establish peace and its seriousness in securing and safety of relief teams and staff of organizations working in the humanitarian field, Jaber stressed, when meeting in Port Sudan today, the Under-Secretary-General for Safety and Security, Gilles Mecho, the Sudanese government’s full commitment to work to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to its beneficiaries and facilitate the work of the Sudanese government, concerned civil society organizations with humanitarian and security affairs, by opening the various crossings and local Sudanese airports, to provide humanitarian aid and necessary needs and to ensure the safety of the employees of international and regional organizations. For his part, the Under-Secretary-General for Safety and Security of the United Nations stated that his visit to the country came with the aim of coordinating with the United Nations team in Sudan and holding meetings with the Sudanese authorities to consider how the United Nations staff continued to serve citizens in a safe and secure manner.
Gilles Micho stated that the team has been working for many years in providing the necessary support to the residents, especially during the war period, stressing their commitment to the Sudanese people to continue providing aid to the needy.
