Foreign Minister meets ambassadors and representatives of diplomatic missions in Cairo

Foreign Minister Dr. Ali Youssef met in Cairo with ambassadors and representatives of 55 diplomatic missions accredited to Sudan residing in Cairo, with the participation of Lieutenant General Engineer Imad El-Din Mustafa Adawi, Ambassador of the Republic of Sudan to Egypt.

During the meeting, the Minister provided an update on the current developments in the country and the advanced operational position of the Sudanese Armed Forces and their successive successes in liberating Sennar, Gezira, Khartoum and Umm Rawaba and advancing towards the west of the country.
The Minister stressed the determination of the Sudanese Armed Forces to cleanse the entire country of the militia and its supporters.
He pointed out the approaching appointment of a civilian technocratic government led by a civilian prime minister.
He also stressed that the war is on the verge of its end with the victory of the armed forces, the joint forces and all regular and forces backed by the masses of the Sudanese people.

The Minister reviewed the most important stages of political development in Sudan since the war in South Sudan and the Darfur problem until the rebellion of the dissolved Rapid Support Forces. The Minister discussed the Jeddah Declaration, stressing Sudan’s commitment to implementing it as a condition for engaging in any future negotiations. He also explained the reasons for Sudan’s refusal to participate in other negotiation forums that aimed to cancel the Jeddah Agreement and invited the United Arab Emirates, the sponsor of the militia, as a facilitator.
