Sudanese-Russian talks in Port Sudan

Minister of Energy and Oil, Dr. Muhiuddin Naeem Mohamed Saeed, welcomed the visit of the Russian delegation led by Victor Shamdanov, Chairman of the Russian Business Council and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, who is visiting the country these days.
He expressed his happiness with the visit, as he considered it an extension of the visit of the delegation of the Ministry of Energy and Oil to the State of Russia headed by him last year.
The delegation held a joint meeting of experts and technicians in the field of oil exploration and production and pipelines.
The meeting discussed a number of topics that Russian companies wish to invest in Sudan, most notably oil, including exploration, production and maintenance of pipelines.
The meeting was attended by a number of directors of the ministry’s general departments and companies.
The minister believed that this day is a joint practical and technical day to discuss the available investment opportunities, expressing that this step is important for relations with Russia, especially in the oil sector.
A memorandum of understanding is expected to be signed between the two parties at the end of the visit. For his part, the head of the visiting delegation, Viktor Shamdanov, said that major Russian companies have a serious desire to find opportunities for cooperation with Sudanese companies and he hopes that the visit will achieve the desired goals in a way that serves the interests of both countries.
