Health Ministry: Distribution for over 16 million mosquito nets next April

A significant meeting convened today at the office of the esteemed Federal Minister of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, who is currently observing quarantine protocols in Port Sudan. This meeting involved representatives from the Global Malaria Support Unit at the Ministry of Health, led by the Director, Dr. Iman Awad, along with several other pivotal leaders from the ministry.

During this session,the Minister articulated crucial insights in a subsequent press statement, emphasizing the key objectives and preparatory measures related to the distribution campaign for over 16 million mosquito nets. This initiative is pivotal in addressing the increased prevalence of malaria and is a component of the broader strategy to bolster public health in the region.

Additionally, the meeting underscored the collaborative agreement between the Ministry of Health and UNICEF, focusing on resource mobilization and expert assistance.

Moreover, Minister Ibrahim addressed the various challenges that the Global Support Unit currently faces, offering gratitude for their unwavering commitment to improving health outcomes amid the ongoing adversity in the country. He noted the critical role that the proposal for the AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria grant played in securing donor commitment and highlighted the necessity for enhanced coordination with the Malaria Department to optimize health initiatives.
