Distribution of 16 million mosquito nets in the coming period under emergency conditions and early detection

The National Malaria Control Program, operating under the auspices of the Federal Ministry of Health, convened an essential training course today at the Al-Rih Al-Tarifi Hall in Kassala, aimed at enhancing the efficacy of malaria control efforts in emergency contexts and fostering the early detection of the disease. This pivotal training initiative will extend until January 29, encompassing a comprehensive curriculum aimed at equipping participants with vital knowledge and practical skills.

In his address during the opening session, Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Abdullah, Acting Director of the General Administration of Basic Health Care, underscored the course’s emphasis on information dissemination, continuous follow-up, and the cross-pollination of ideas and experiences among participants. He elaborated on the multifaceted strategies employed in the battle against malaria, which include the distribution and effective utilization of insecticide-treated mosquito nets, among other vital approaches. Dr. Abdullah highlighted the ongoing efforts to distribute an impressive 16 million mosquito nets in the near future, marking a significant commitment to reducing malaria transmission and safeguarding public health in affected regions. This initiative will play a crucial role in enhancing community protection against malaria in vulnerable populations, thereby contributing to the overarching goal of malaria eradication.
