Agar praises the role of the Italian Emergency Foundation in providing medical services in the country

patients in Khartoum, Port Sudan and Nyala under the current circumstances.
His Excellency stressed, during his meeting in his office in Port Sudan today with the Foundation’s delegation headed by Ms. Rosella Misho, the government’s keenness and full commitment to working to facilitate services and secure medical and health personnel to enable them to perform their role, pointing to the importance of integrating roles and joint coordination between the government and regional and international institutions in order to provide health and humanitarian services.
Agar pointed out the state’s interest in preparing and providing an appropriate environment for the work of relief teams and employees of organizations working in the humanitarian field, especially obtaining entry visas for workers in the humanitarian field.
For her part, Ms. Rosella Misho explained that the delegation briefed the Deputy Head of the Sovereignty Council on the activities and programs undertaken by the Italian Foundation since 2004 and the efforts made to maintain the level of services provided and their continuity through Al-Salam Hospitals in Soba, Kassala and Gedaref and the challenges facing the Foundation in implementing the proposed programs and continuing work in the city of Nyala.
Rosella added that the Foundation was able to continue providing life-saving surgeries, thanks to the commitment of the Sudanese side to provide medical and health assistance to the Foundation’s hospitals.
