The Director General of the Sudanese National Health Insurance Fund, Dr. Farouk Nour Al-Daim, has recently engaged in a series of high-level, intensive meetings in the capital city of Cairo. These discussions included prominent figures such as the Ambassador of Sudan to Egypt, Lieutenant General Engineer Imad Adawi, and the Medical Counselor of the Sudanese Embassy, Dr. Khader Faisal Abu Bakr. Additionally, representatives from the companies that have successfully secured tenders to provide vital health services were also in attendance.

During these meetings, the Sudanese ambassador took proactive measures by addressing the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the objective of facilitating a meeting between the Sudanese National Health Insurance Fund and its Egyptian counterpart. This meeting is pivotal in laying the groundwork for a memorandum of understanding between the two institutions. The anticipated agreement aims to establish a comprehensive mechanism that ensures holders of the health insurance card in Sudan receive adequate medical treatment through Egyptian health insurance systems.

Dr. Farouk Nour emphasized that discussions with the ambassador focused on crucial elements regarding the management of medical and customer services. Furthermore, there was a concerted effort to outline a strategic structure and operational office for the Sudanese health insurance framework, ensuring both efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery.
