(1200) tons of rice humanitarian aid from the People’s Republic of China to Sudan

The Humanitarian Aid Commission today launched shipments of humanitarian aid from the People’s Republic of China consisting of (1200) tons of rice headed to a number of Sudanese states, including Darfur, to help those affected by the war waged by the terrorist Rapid Support Militia against the country.
Salwa Adam Baniya, the Humanitarian Aid Commissioner, said in press statements that the shipment contains rice provided by China, indicating that this is not the first time China has provided aid to Sudan, and that this is the first batch of (1200) tons distributed to all states, including safe areas in Darfur.
She renewed her accusation of the rebel Rapid Support Militia of deliberately preventing aid from reaching those in need and using it as a weapon in war, stressing the government’s commitment to delivering aid and calling on the international community to take clear measures against the militia’s deliberate prevention of humanitarian aid.
Salwa denied the existence of a famine in Sudan, especially since the production of crops and grains is promising this season, in addition to the continued arrival of humanitarian aid from sisterly and friendly countries, pointing out that there are parties promoting the existence of a famine, adding that the militia prevents the arrival of aid and takes it, describing it as starvation and not famine.
She praised China’s honorable positions towards Sudan in international forums, in addition to Russia, Pakistan and other countries that have roles in helping Sudan.

For his part, the Chargé d’Affairs of the Chinese Embassy in Sudan, Jan Xian, said that China always stands by Sudan and will continue to provide support and support to it, indicating that the two countries have historical relations, expressing his hope that security and peace will be achieved in Sudan.

He added, “This aid targets the various states and will be followed by other aid in the near future to alleviate the suffering of Sudanese citizens,” noting that Sudan is a sisterly country close to China.

He said, “We appreciate the efforts of the Sudanese government and its endeavor to achieve peace and stability in the country, and we appreciate the government’s efforts to facilitate the delivery of aid to those in need, and we will stand with Sudan until it overcomes all the challenges it faces
