IGAD Executive Secretary, Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu renews his commitment to enhance cooperation and coordination to reduce the risks of extremism and violence.
He stressed the importance of the efforts of the role of community leaders in addressing the challenges of peace and security in the Horn of Africa

In this regard Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu posted the following on x platform:

“Addressing the challenge of peace and security in the Horn of Africa requires a collaborative effort among Community Leaders and stakeholders.
Speaking to Religious Leaders and media practitioners and teachers from various IGAD member states convened by IGAD in Mombasa, I reaffirmed my commitment to fostering stronger collaboration and cooperation. By amplifying credible voices, we can work together to reduce the risk of radicalization and polarization which may lead to conflict and violence!”
