Technical Committees of the Council of Ministers approve the 2025 budget project

With complete unanimity in praising the efforts of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning, the technical committees of the ministerial sectors of the Council of Ministers approved, in their meeting today at the Council’s headquarters in the Ministries Complex, the emergency budget project for the state’s fiscal year 2025, which was submitted by Mr. Abdullah Ibrahim, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, in preparation for submitting it to the Council of Ministers for approval in its final form.

The new budget project carried good news for the citizens, the most important of which is that the budget is free of any new taxes, with a commitment to increase spending on the specified priorities to support the war effort and support the health, education and electricity sectors and the requirements of the displaced for humanitarian aid, and support media organizations, in addition to a commitment to mobilize resources by expanding revenue sources.
The project included the challenges facing the budget in the field of resource mobilization and public spending.
The Undersecretary of Finance reviewed the performance of the general budget for the year 2024 and its commitment to spending, according to the priorities represented in supporting the war effort, the health sector, humanitarian aid, workers’ compensation, providing basic goods and services, state transfers, supporting the agricultural season, electricity, and fulfilling external obligations.
