Minister of Development: Future of Sudan will be different

Minister of Social Development, Dr. Ahmed Adam Bakhit, confirmed that the Sudanese people are fighting the current war with one goal, which is to defend their existence and identity, and that Sudan of the future will be different from what it was before the war.
This came during his visit today to Khartoum State, accompanied by a delegation from the Social Security Commission headed by Commissioner Mohamed Ali Salem.
The Minister began his visit with a meeting with the Governor of Khartoum, Ahmed Osman Hamza, in the presence of members of the state government. During the meeting, views were exchanged on all issues related to the stability of citizens and providing them with assistance.
The Minister and the Governor inaugurated the delivery of the fifth and sixth phases of direct cash support to the targeted families. Minister Adam Bakhit said that Khartoum State, as the capital of the country, should be given priority in support. He added that the direct cash support program targets (70) thousand families and that there are proposals to increase coverage to (600) thousand families next year.
He said that these families will receive synergistic support, which includes coverage with health insurance services, ownership of means of production and disbursement of pensions.
The minister revealed that the ministry has begun implementing a strong partnership program that includes federal ministries, Zakat, United Nations agencies, civil society organizations and the private sector to work in synergy to combat poverty.
The program began in Gedaref State and will move to the rest of the states.
For his part, the governor of Khartoum, Ahmed Osman, said that Khartoum State needs more support due to the influx of large numbers from states that have recently witnessed security disturbances, and that large numbers of citizens have begun to return to their homes. The Governor of Khartoum praised the great attention given by Minister Ahmed Adam Bakhit and his continuous support for the citizens of Khartoum State.
He also praised the regular support provided by the Security Commission and the increase in the number of targeted families from (7) thousand to (8) thousand families, in addition to increasing support from (25) thousand to (50) thousand families.
