Khartoum Governor confirms cooperation with the judiciary to resume the work of the courts

Khartoum Governor, Ahmed Osman Hamza, confirmed the state government’s readiness to cooperate with the judicial authorities to rehabilitate the court headquarters that were destroyed by the rebel militia in its war against the Sudanese state and enable it play its role in adjudicating cases.
He welcomed the judicial delegation that concluded its visit to Khartoum State, headed by Judge Ahmed Siddiq Nayel, General Director of the Courts Administration, his deputy judge Mohamed Al-Sir Imam, and the General Registrar of Lands for the Republic of Sudan, judge Sharaf Al-Din Ahmidy, in the presence of the Head of the Judicial Authority of Omdurman and Khartoum North, judge Yaqoub Osman Baqira, and the Director of the Legal Administration of Khartoum State, Hind Abdel Ghaffar.
He welcomed the decision of the judiciary to resume the work of the Documentation and Land Records Department in Khartoum State, which is consistent with the policy of the judiciary to restore the work of the courts in Khartoum State.
The governor referred to the decision of the state government during a previous period to stop all transactions in the sale and purchase of lands to prevent any tampering with citizens’ real estate.
The Director of the Courts Administration, judge Ahmed Siddiq Nayel, praised the efforts of the state government in restoring basic services and providing an attractive environment for the return of citizens and the nature of civil life in the state.
He added that the delegation came with the aim of standing in the field on the extent of the damage inflicted on the court headquarters in the areas from which the militia was defeated and discussing the means to restore the work of the judiciary in Khartoum State to complete the judicial system.
For his part, the head of the judiciary of Omdurman and Khartoum North, judge Yaqoub Osman Baqira, confirmed the smooth flow of work in the court complexes currently operating in the Karari locality.
He said that the delegation’s visit was for the purpose of standing by and reassuring the progress of the courts’ work and finding a mechanism to re-enter the suspended courts in Khartoum North and Omdurman, where the delegation stood by the damages in the Al-Droushab and Al-Halfaya courts, the Popular Market courts complex in Omdurman and the Land Registration Office to assess the extent of the damage and begin the required maintenance.
