Launching the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development grant to support the health sector

The Federal Ministry of Health launched today at the National Fund for Medical Supplies in the Red Sea State, the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development’s grant, to support the health sector, with ambulances in support of the National Ambulance Project, and 33 ambulances were launched as a first stage, out of 66 ambulances that will arrive during the next month.
The Federal Minister of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, stressed his ministry’s interest in implementing the national ambulance project, pointing to its importance to save lives and link health institutions, within the framework of the ministry’s keenness to provide urgent medical services to patients, and permanent readiness to face and solve emergency crises, stressing that aid represents a large part and an essential backer in the medical and therapeutic process, praising the support of the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, in supporting the health sector in Sudan, pointing to the role of the Ministry of Finance in followinh-up and coordination for the success of the project, explaining the establishment of specialized training courses for health cadres entrusted with the operation of the project.
The Minister of Finance and Economic Planning saluted the Ministry of Health, praising its great role in providing health services and their stability, praising the performance, saying that the Ministry of Health filled the gaps during the war period under difficult circumstances, expressing his happiness to attend the launch of the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development grant.
Dr. Jibril said that the Ministry of Finance places health as one of its priorities due to the importance of the health of the Sudanese citizen, and works to continue providing health services despite the circumstances that the country is going through. He explained the importance of investing in health, pointing out that a healthy person is productive, pointing out that the lack of food and unfit water is a problem for health, so attention must be paid to, stressing coordination with the Ministry of Health.
Dr. Jibril pointed to the sympathy of the international community with health issues, thanking international and regional organizations for providing support for health. He called on the ministry to develop work, provide medicines, continue vaccination operations, provide aid, in addition to rehabilitating hospitals. He revealed the support provided by the Arab Bank for Development in the amount of $ 10 million in support of the health sector including the provision of these aids.
