FMoH Condemns Violations by Militias Against Civilians in El Fasher.

The Citizen/ Haffiya Elyas
The Federal Ministry of Health has issued a stern condemnation regarding the repeated violations committed by militias against civilians, institutions, and medical personnel. Particularly concerning is the targeted attacks on the Saudi Hospital in El Fasher. These acts of aggression pose a grave threat to the safety and well-being of both patients and healthcare workers.
The Ministry is deeply troubled by the militia’s deliberate targeting of health facilities, such as the Saudi Hospital for Women and Obstetrics, which has been subjected to repeated attacks. Such actions not only endanger the lives of innocent individuals but also contravene established international laws and norms governing armed conflict.
The recent bombing of the Saudi Hospital by the militia resulted in multiple casualties, including injuries to 16 individuals and the loss of two dedicated healthcare professionals. These reprehensible acts have obstructed the hospital’s ability to provide essential medical services, further exacerbating an already dire situation.
It is imperative that such violations cease immediately to safeguard the sanctity of medical facilities and protect the rights of vulnerable populations. The Ministry calls upon all parties involved to respect the fundamental principles of humanitarian law and ensure the safety and security of healthcare facilities and personnel.
