Her unwavering commitment and tireless efforts in championing the rights of women and girls, with a specific focus on combating gender-based violence, particularly within the Horn of Africa region, have been exemplary.

Hala El Karb’s profound impact resonates through her dedicated advocacy on behalf of victims and survivors of sexual violence in conflict-ridden areas. Through her powerful advocacy work and impactful writings, she has effectively brought forth the voices of these marginalized communities to a global platform, shedding light on their plight and struggles.

This prestigious accolade is a testament to Hala El Karb’s remarkable contributions towards advancing gender justice, empowering women, and fostering a culture of peace. This honor coincided with the international campaign of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence that runs from November 25 to December 10 annually.

This campaign aims to raise awareness about gender-based violence and its impact on women and girls worldwide. It also seeks to promote actions to end violence against women in all its forms, including physical, emotional, and sexual violence.
