Editorial: Towards the Second Republic

As we are inching towards completing seven decades since independence, and as the ongoing destructive war is rapidly it in its last days, is a must to rethink about the renewal of the Sudanese state, anticipating a new construction phase on contemporary foundations.
Despite the circumstances that Sudan is going through, wisdom requires the emergence of a new thought that goes beyond reality to establish the Second Republic to achieve the aspirations of the Sudanese people.
There should be true establishment of a united Sudanese nation,
We must all do our best to establish a state of law and justice, towards building the aspired modern Sudanese state.
This requires that priority be given to extinguishing the fires of the conflagration that is devouring the country and its people.
The above requirements are possible and within reach if there is sincere political will and determination to lift the current burdens.
It is wise to focus efforts in the path of war on ending it as soon as possible under the conditions of legitimacy that make the army the exclusive force to protect sovereignty and the law.
At the same time the state structures are formed and working at their maximum capacity to build the modern Sudanese state.
Some believe that the order here is sequential, and accordingly the country emerges from the state of war first, and then begins the journey of searching for a bright future.
This is wrong, as they are two parallel paths among other paths, all of which are parallel..
The path of military effort that will not stop as long as there is rebellion is also parallel to the path of negotiation that seeks to achieve the same goals but by different means.. through dialogue and negotiation, whichever achieves the goal first – war or peace -.
We need to look at the Sudanese state with a comprehensive standard that goes beyond the present to the broad future.
