Consultative meeting with organizations to respond to epidemic diseases in East Central Darfur

A consultative meeting was held with organizations to review the pilot period of the electronic system for disease surveillance and epidemic disease response in the states of East Central Darfur at the WHO hall office in Port Sudan.
In press statements, the Acting Director of the General Department of Emergency and Epidemic Control, Dr. Al-Fadil Mohamed Mahmoud, said that the aim of the meeting with the World Health Organization, UNICEF and other international organizations is to discuss the progress of the electronic system for disease surveillance and response to epidemic diseases in the states of East and Central Darfur, evaluate the trial period and work to find solutions to the challenges facing the system, in addition to developing strategies to develop and expand to include all states of Darfur and Kordofan.
Al-Fadil revealed the outcomes of the meeting, including the need to meet with organizations working in health, reflecting the importance of the system, discussing the possibility of developing and participating organizations in the system, adding that we discussed the possibility of finding mechanisms to train cadres in the states of Darfur and Kordofan on the system and work with it, pointing to the importance of coordination, pointing to the continuation of meetings with partners.
