Al-Burhan meets the Auditor General

Head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces, 1st. Lt. Gen. Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan met today with Salah Al-Din Muhammad Osman Abdul Rahman, the Auditor General of the Republic of Sudan.

The meeting addressed issues related to financial auditing, which contribute to achieving the highest degree of technical efficiency, accuracy and independence to preserve the mandate of public money and prevent encroachment on public money.
It also discussed ways to overcome all difficulties facing the work and tasks of the Auditor General’s Office.

The Auditor General of the Republic of Sudan said in a press statement that he provided an enlightenment to the Head of the Sovereignty Council on the performance of the Office and the financial and accounting reports for the past years for all state institutions, in addition to the work situation in the various states, noting that the accounts of Khartoum State were reviewed.

He said that the Audit Bureau is fully performing its duties and enjoys complete independence and impartiality from the state, announcing that the Bureau has won first place in independence from all Arab state agencies, and second place in Africa and seventeenth place for all audit agencies in the state, according to World Bank indicators.
His Excellency stressed the importance of concerted efforts to advance the Audit Bureau to keep pace with the developments witnessed by audit agencies in the world, adding that the accounts of (598) government units and Sudanese embassies abroad have been audited, saying, “We started according to the plan to audit the accounts of the fiscal year 2024.”
