A training Workshop on Nutrition During Emergencies Concludes Sessions

The National Nutrition Program in Kassala State concluded a training of trainers workshop on nutrition during emergencies with the participation of 9 States.

The director of the program, Dr. Noha Abdel Fattah Salehin, said in a statement after the conclusion, that the aim of the course is to train trainers on nutrition during emergencies, how to conduct surveys, interventions and their types, in addition to developing final plans to be submitted to donors and the government, pointing out that 9 states are empty of developing their plans.

Salehin noted that the training ended today with a field visit to one of the shelters in Pixala, and to identify the weaknesses, strengths, and threats facing the provision of services in shelters, categorically to be able to clarify a lot of what is related to nutrition during emergencies, noting that most states suffer either from displacement or war and the suspension of work in health institutions, which led to the need to change service delivery strategies, including mobile teams, in shelter centers, announcing success in providing services for the year 2024 in 24% of shelter centers.

Salehin indicated that the beginning of the training was in 2022, for all states to develop initial plans
