Al-Burhan and Salva Kiir hold a joint talks session

Head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, 1st. Lt. Gen. Abdul-Fattah Al-Burhan held a session of talks with the President of the Republic of South Sudan #Salva Kiir Mayardet, related to the promotion and development of bilateral relations and the advancement of the prospects for joint cooperation.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hussein Al-Amin, said in a press statement that the visit of Al-Burhan to Juba comes within the framework of the continuous consultation between the leaderships of the two countries.
He indicated that the visit also came to provide support to President Salva Kiir and the Government of South Sudan regarding the developments in the south, adding that Al-Burhan provided a comprehensive explanation of his brother, President Salva Kiir, about the situation in Sudan, against the background of the rebellion led by the terrorist Rapid Support militia against the state and its institutions,referring to the progress of the armed forces, the regular forces and the joint forces in all the axes of operations.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the visit also touched on cooperation between the two countries in the fields of petroleum, trade and border security, as well as its contribution to the revitalization of bilateral relations.
For his part, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of the South, Majak Philemon Majuk, said that the visit of the Head of the Sovereign Council of the Republic of South Sudan came within the framework of the strong relations between the two countries, noting that the two presidents addressed a number of common issues, foremost of which are cooperation in the oil and border security sector, as well as the areas of economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.
Majok expressed his hope that this visit would contribute to strengthening the relations of cooperation between Sudan and the Republic of South Sudan, to serve the interests of the two brotherly peoples.
