Sudan calls on the international community to contribute to the reconstruction of industrial sector institutions destroyed by RSF militia

Sudan has called on the international community to rebuild industrial sector institutions destroyed by the Rapid Support Forces, which exceeded 3,600 industrial facilities in Khartoum and Gezira states alone, in partnership with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).
This came in the statement presented by Ambassador Magdi Ahmed Mufaddal, Permanent Representative of Sudan to the United Nations and International Organizations in Vienna, before the fifty-second session of the Industrial Development Board on November 26, 2024.
The ambassador praised the partnership between Sudan and UNIDO and the organization’s support for the country in capacity building, vocational training, and implementing various projects funded by development partners in Japan, Italy, the European Union, Canada, and others, stressing Sudan’s aspiration to enhance the benefit from regional partnership programs to support industrial development.
