Al-Burhan and Al-Sisi hold a joint talks
Head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, 1st. Lt. Gen. Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan, and the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, held a joint discussion session, in the hall of the International Conference Center in Cairo, on the sidelines of the World Urban Forum.
The discussions dealt with ways to enhance, support and develop relations to serve the peoples of the two countries, areas of joint cooperation, in addition to issues of common interest between the two countries in all fields.
Al-Burhan briefed the Egyptian President on the latest developments in the situation in Sudan after the Rapid Support militia rebellion against the state and its institutions.
He expressed his appreciation to President El-Sisi for the invitation he extended to him to participate in the work of the World Urban Forum, praising the warm reception and generous hospitality, appreciating the level of strong fraternal relations between the two brotherly countries, pointing to the Egyptian support for maintaining the safety, security and stability of Sudan.
Al-Burhan expressed the Sudanese government’s appreciation for the effective role of the Arab Republic of Egypt in the region, under the leadership of President Sisi.
He renewed his thanks to the brotherly Egyptian people for receiving their Sudanese brothers and providing them with aid and assistance.
His Excellency also thanked President Sisi for his directives and interest in the issues of Sudanese residing in Egypt.
For his part, the Egyptian President thanked Al-Burhan for accepting the invitation, stressing Egypt’s firm and steadfast position in standing by the Sudanese people to achieve security, stability and unity, expressing his great appreciation for the level of joint cooperation between the two countries in all fields, stressing his keenness to consolidate and strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and support and enhance relations between Sudan and Egypt to achieve the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples, pointing out Egypt’s great pride in the strong ties it has with Sudan at the official and popular levels, noting the deep historical ties between the two brotherly countries.
President Sisi affirmed his commitment to resolving all obstacles facing the Sudanese, especially the Sudanese students in Egypt.
His Excellency directed the competent authorities to facilitate all procedures related to the Sudanese brothers.
The meeting was attended from the Sudanese side by the Minister of Urban Planning, Ahmed Fadl, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hussein Al-Amin, the Director of the General Intelligence Service, Lieutenant General Ahmed Ibrahim Mufaddal, and the Sudanese Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt, Lieutenant General Imad Al-Din Adawi.
