Abu Aqla Kikal reveals the reasons behind his defection

The field commander who defected from the Rapid Support Forces, Abu Aqla Kikal, revealed for the first time the reasons for his defection and joining the fighting alongside the Sudanese army.

He said in a video clip that any area controlled by the Rapid Support Forces is exposed to the looting of government institutions, citizens’ money and their homes.

He added, “I joined the Rapid Support Forces for a cause, but unfortunately we found that they do not work to achieve a cause, and what made us return to the army and the right path is that we found that the citizen in the areas where the army is present is dear and honored, while when we, as Rapid Support Forces, enter an area, we commit violations, extermination, looting and theft.”
