Sudanese journalist wins IGAD Media Award 2024 for environmental and climate change issues

Sudanese journalist, Mrs Ikhlas Nimir, won the IGAD Media Award 2024 for media professionals interested in environmental and climate change issues at the level of IGAD countries, the African continent and the international level.

This Award, which Ikhlas Nimir won with others from IGAD countries, is for journalistic work that focuses on climate change and the environment and enhancing the role of the media in preserving the environment and reducing the effects of climate change.

Mrs Ikhlas Nimir was handed over the Award at a grand ceremony held in Nairobi.

She dedicated the Award to her husband, her children and all the women of Sudan “who raise their voices loudly to stop the war and sustain peace.”
