Narcissistic Acts: Colour

Life is filled with rainbows, its us who differentiate one colour from the other and be able to clearly see it. In psychology, a person’s preference of one colour over the other indicates certain characteristics. Different characters might have some similarities, but by study, observation, and research, scientists have gathered important information, and by time and practise, they have found similar characteristics in certain groups which happens to prefers one colour over the other. In this article, I would like to take you in a short journey and introduce you to the world of colours, we will take the colours of rainbow and briefly mention what does it mean in psychology and what are the common characteristics between the people who like each colour.
Red: in psychology, Red is associated with excitement, passion, danger, energy, and action. People who like this colour are mostly bold, boisterous, and full of energy. Their spontaneous nature and need for adventure make them passionate and ambitious individuals, and they also might harbour a slight competitive streak.
Orange: in psychology, Orange is associated with optimism, confidence, enthusiasm, warmth, and agreeableness. People who like this colour may feel outgoing or even bold. On the negative side, it may bring to mind feelings of superficiality, arrogance, or pride.
Yellow: in psychology, Yellow is associated with sunshine, hope, laughter, warmth, happiness, and energy. People who like this colour are mostly creative, cheery, fun-loving, optimistic, friendly, and dynamic kind of individual. They may be highly mentally active. They may prefer to deal with situations with their mind over their heart. They may be methodical, analytical, and calculated.
Green: in psychology, Green represents abundance, peace, refreshment and security. People who like this colour mostly tend to be perfectionistic, analytical, conceptual, cool, calm, inventive and logical. They seek knowledge and understanding as well as always looking for explanations and answers.
Blue: in psychology, Blue calls to mind feelings of calmness and relaxation. It is seen as a sign of stability and reliability. People who like this colour mostly tend to be enthusiastic, sympathetic, communicative, compassionate, idealistic, sincere and imaginative. They care and want to contribute to everything they are a part of.
Indigo: in psychology, Indigo is associated with profound thought, devotion, wisdom, and justice. People who like this colour are known for their love of artistic pursuits, and this personality type has a special affinity for the theater. Their combination of creativity and a tendency toward drama makes them especially well-suited to acting and scriptwriting.
Purple: in psychology, purple is a blend of red’s energy and blue’s calm. People who like this colour are mostly creative, emotional, enlightened, feminine, imaginative, inspiring, mysterious, rare, royalty, and spiritual kind of individual.
May the bright colours of rainbow fill our sky in Khartoum at the very soon future, and may Allah grant wisdom and positive thinking upon our leaders to end this war and give our Sudanese soldiers the strengths to rescue and unite the country again.
