Jaber, expresses Sudan’s appreciation for India’s supportive stances towards Sudan

Member of the Transitional Sovereign Council, Assistant Commander-in-Chief, 1st. Lieutenant General Engineer Ibrahim Jaber, expressed the Sudanese government’s thanks and appreciation for India’s stances and its continued support for the Sudanese people, appreciating the presence of the Indian embassy staff in the country despite the ongoing war.

This came during his meeting today in his office with the Chargé d’Affairs of the Embassy of the State of India in Sudan, Ambassador/Jinga Shankar Joshi.

His Excellency directed the relevant authorities to facilitate the procedures for regularizing the status of the Indian embassy in Port Sudan and following up on the implementation of joint projects.

For his part, the Indian Chargé d’Affairs in Sudan said in a press statement that the meeting was fruitful as it discussed a number of issues related to continuing the health and medical aid provided by the Indian government to Sudan, noting the presence of an Indian medical delegation next December, including doctors and surgeons to treat patients and war casualties in Port Sudan and other regions of Sudan.

The Indian Chargé d’Affaires added that the meeting also touched on facilitating consular procedures between the two countries, revealing an invitation to Indian companies to invest in the energy and mining sectors in Sudan, in addition to the Indian government’s assistance to Sudan in the reconstruction process.
