Jaber directs the Public Prosecution to monitor the violations of the rebel militia against civilians in the eastern region

Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Assistant Commander-in-Chief, 1st Lieutenant General Engineer Ibrahim Jaber, directed the Public Prosecution to monitor the violations of the rebel militia that recently took place in the eastern regions Gezira state against unarmed civilians and to open reports against their perpetrators in national and international courts.

This came during his meeting today with the Attorney General, El-Fateh Muhammad Issa Tayfour.
Tayfour said vin a press statement that he informed the member of the Sovereignty Council about the course of investigations and trials conducted by the National Committee to Investigate Violations of National Law and International Humanitarian Law, adding that the legal procedures related to arresting the accused, transferring cases to the courts and issuing deterrent rulings are witnessing tangible progress, in addition to opening reports on the widespread violations that recently took place in Gezira state.
He also pointed out that the meeting also touched on issues related to the extradition of fugitive defendants and those outside the country and the declaration of new groups as terrorists in accordance with the decisions that will soon be issued by the technical committee concerned with implementing the Security Council resolution on classifying terrorist organizations. The Attorney General reassured Sudanese citizens that the performance of the Public Prosecution is witnessing a noticeable increase and that it is monitoring all violators of the law who will receive their punishment.
He stressed the need to not escape punishment, indicating that the Public Prosecution will pursue all those who commit crimes, violate the honor of the Sudanese, loot their money and shed their blood so that they are brought to trials that meet the requirements of a fair trial.
