Customs Smuggling Combat Workshop Kicks-off

Minister of Interior, Major General Khalil Pasha Sayreen, stressed the importance of the customs smuggling combat workshop, and pointed out that it represents importance due to its contribution to laying the foundations for preserving the country’s economy.
During his address to the customs smuggling workshop, he praised the role of the customs police and its advanced achievements, especially in a number of seizures that would have affected the country’s economy in a comprehensive and significant manner, explaining that the arrangements for the customs smuggling combat workshop came in partnership with a number of parties.
Sayreen said that the phenomenon of customs smuggling is one of the global phenomena and must be combated in all its forms because it poses risks to national security and threatens social security, especially through the smuggling of drugs and other goods, pointing out the importance of border control to prevent smuggling, and the need to raise the training capabilities of workers in the field of customs smuggling and the use of modern technologies that have become necessary and essential, stressing the importance of the recommendations because they contribute to combating customs smuggling in order to preserve the state’s public resources.
Sayreen added that there are major challenges that must be faced to maintain Sudan’s security and destroy the Sudanese economy, pointing out to the importance of ensuring state protection and adhering to international laws, especially since Sudan has open borders with seven countries, which requires diligence in working to preserve the country’s security.
