Sudanese Red Crescent delegation visits the Netherlands

A delegation consisting of Ms. Aida Al-Sayed Abdullah, Secretary-General of the Sudanese Red Crescent, Mr. Barakat Faris Badri, Director of International Cooperation and Partnerships, and Mr. Sami Mahdi Adam, Director of Capacity Development of the Society, visited the Netherlands at the invitation of the Dutch Red Cross, where they met with representatives of the Dutch Parliament to brief on the extent of the crisis in Sudan and the need for the Dutch Parliament and people to know about this forgotten crisis by European countries, which affected the support provided to the Sudanese people in general and the Red Crescent Society in particular, in addition to reviewing the Society’s interventions in all states of Sudan and the urgent need to support the Society.
The delegation presented its general plan and urgent needs in the field of health, water, comprehensive aid, protection,risk reduction, in addition to developing the Society’s capabilities at the center and branches levels.
For their part, the members of the Dutch Parliament thanked the Sudanese Red Crescent Society delegation and affirmed their commitment to seeking to increase support for Sudan and the Society during the budget discussion session, in addition to intensifying the explanation and definition of the Sudan problem so that it is no long a forgotten crisis among European societies and governments.
