MoU between AcoGaps and the Poverty Reduction Commission

The African Center for Governance, Peace and Transition Studies (AcoGaps) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Social Security, Solidarity and Poverty Reduction Commission at the Royal Wings Hall in the Social Security Tower in Port Sudan.
The Director of AcoGaps, Dr. Mahmoud Zain Al-Abdine, signed on behalf of the Center, while Commissioner-General Mohamed Ali Salem signed on behalf of the Social Security, Solidarity and Poverty Reduction Commission; in the presence of the Federal Minister of Social Development, Ahmed Adam Bakhit, the Secretary-General of the National Council for Child Welfare, Dr. Abdul Qader Abdullah Abu.

The Director-General of the Red Sea Department of Training and Administrative Reform, Dr. Mujahid Haroun, and the Director-General of the Tourism Sector, Professor Samia Oshik; The memorandum was concluded within the framework of exchanging experiences in the field of technical cooperation in terms of organizing forums, training courses, international conferences, workshops, consultative meetings, capacity building and other activities related to poverty reduction issues and providing livelihoods.

The MoU stipulated the cooperation of the two parties in the areas of designing policies, programs and interventions related to poverty reduction and capacity building in the field of providing livelihoods, support and technical support, as well as regional and international cooperation.
In this context, the Social Security, Solidarity and Poverty Reduction Commission works to provide a legal and conceptual framework for social security strategies, poverty reduction, and developing national standards, in addition to achieving social justice and securing the minimum level of social security for the poorest families.

It urges society to expand social development programs and raise the development level of grassroots communities; It is worth noting that the AcoGaps was established in 2019 with the aim of becoming one of the leading African institutions in the fields of good governance, peacemaking and building, conflict and disaster prevention, civilian protection, combating violent extremism and terrorism, combating illegal migration, supporting the transition from fragility to immunity, supporting democratic transformation, and combating hate speech and violence.
The Center implemented a package of activities that achieve these goals.
