Red Crescent Delegation Receives representatives of the EU

The Secretary-General of the Red Crescent Society, Aida Al-Sayed, confirmed the increasing urgent needs in Sudan due to the war that forced the Sudanese to flee, and the situation worsened due to torrents and floods. She added, in the comprehensive enlightenment that she presented with the participation of the Director of Capacity Development of the Society, Sami Mahdi, and the Director of International Cooperation, Barakat Faris, which she presented to the representatives of the European Union and representatives of the European Agency for Development, the urgent needs of the humanitarian situation in Sudan were explained. The Director of International Cooperation, Barakat Faris, referred to the Society’s interventions in all states of Sudan and called for the necessity of supporting the Red Crescent and its partners from the international movement.
In the context, the Director of Capacity Development of the Society, Sami Mahdi, presented a brief on the general plan for humanitarian intervention and the plan for developing the society’s capabilities, the necessity of supporting the Sudanese Red Crescent in all states and supporting urgent needs in the field of health, water, comprehensive aid, protection, and psychological and social support.
The delegation praised the Red Crescent for the distinguished work it is doing in all fields and its pledges to increase the support allocated to Sudan.
It is noteworthy that the tour that the Red Crescent delegation is making to a number of European countries comes within the framework of the Red Crescent Society’s efforts to attract support to confront the situation in Sudan.
