IGAD Executive Secretary meets Somali. Foreign Minister

On the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, the Executive Secretary of IGAD, H.E. Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu met with the Foreign Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H. E. Ahmed Moalim Figi during which regional peace and security were discussed, particularly on the strained relations between Somalia and Ethiopia.

After the meeting Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu posters the following on x platformplatform:
“Met with H.E. @AhmedMoFiqi on the SIDELINES of the UNGA meetings in New York, following up on my recent visit to the Federal Republic of Somalia. Our discussion focused on regional peace and security, with particular emphasis on the strained relations between the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the Federal Republic of Somalia. IGAD remains committed to playing an active role in easing tensions between our two sisterly member states to promote peace, stability, and stronger regional collaboration.”
