Head of the TSC meets the Secretary-General of AL

Headvof the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces, 1st. Lieutenant General Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan met today with the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Abul Gheit, as part of his participation in the work of the United Nations General Assembly held in New York City.

The meeting discussed the importance of enhancing peace, security and stability in Sudan, ending the war, addressing the humanitarian situation and returning the displaced to their homes.

Al-Burhan expressed his appreciation for the role of the Arab League in supporting Sudan and its keenness to end the Sudanese crisis and achieve sustainable peace, addressing the efforts and initiatives proposed in this regard, stressing the government’s readiness to engage in any initiative to end the war in a way that guarantees the dignity and will of the Sudanese people and the sovereignty of the state.

For his part, Abul Gheit expressed the League’s support for the efforts made to stop the ongoing conflict in Sudan and restore the role of the Sudanese state at all levels, saying, “The return of security and stability in Sudan will remain a priority for the Arab League.
