Executive Secretary of IGAD meets Djiboutian Minister of Foreign Affairs

On the sidelines of the UNGA meetings, the Executive Secretary of IGAD, H. E. Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu, met with the Djiboutian Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, during which the two officials discussed peace and security issues within the region.
After the meeting, Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu posted the following on x platform:

“At the sidelines of #UNGA79, I held a meeting with H.E Mahmoud Ali Youssouf; the Djiboutian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation and the Chair of IGAD Council of Ministers .We exchanged views about peace and security issues within our region, including my recent mission to Mogadishu.
IGAD will continue to work tirelessly to defuse tensions in the region and harmonize our efforts in regional cooperation.”
