Deputy Head of the TSC directs adoption of an approach to the continuous development of Hajj and Umrah services
Deputy Head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Commander Malik Agar Ayre, directed the need to enhance the positives of the Hajj mission for the year 1445 .
His Excellency stressed, during his meeting today in his office with the Minister of Religious Affairs and Endowments, Dr. Osama Hassan, the importance of adopting an approach to develop Hajj and Umrah services and setting standards for selecting members of administrative, medical and media missions.
For his part, the Minister of Religious Affairs and Endowments said in a press statement that he briefed the Deputy Head of the TSC on the performance report of the Hajj and Umrah Mission for the year 1445, reviewing the arrangements and preparations made with the Saudi authorities by signing the basic document and the framework agreement with the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and Religious Affairs and Endowments in Sudan, with the aim of determining the share of Sudanese pilgrims and the mutual obligations in the following 12 services from the Hajj packages related to housing, food and transportation for pilgrims between the holy sites and the sacrifice.
Dr. Osama pointed out that the report included the financial cost of Hajj and the reasons that led to its increase last season, explaining that economic inflation and the decline in the value of the pound against foreign currencies are among the most prominent reasons, in addition to the fact that there are free Saudi services that were subject to fees last season, in addition to the economic and social reasons in light of the war conditions that the country is experiencing, which cast negative shadows on the cost and the progress of Hajj preparations.
The Minister of Endowments added that the report discussed the importance of adding a sector for immigrants as a new sector that emerged among the Hajj sectors last season, as about 533 Sudanese pilgrims from 24 countries around the world performed the Hajj, pointing out the importance of making arrangements that better organize this sector.
The Minister of Religious Affairs referred to the general features of his ministry’s plan regarding the arrangements for the Hajj of the year 1446, touching on the issue of Sudanese endowments in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia according to the report of the review team affiliated with the National Audit Office, which will be submitted to the Sovereignty Council to issue decisions aimed at developing Sudanese endowments in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
