Al-Burhan meets UNSG

Head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces, 1st. Lieutenant General Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan met yesterday in New York with the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres.
This was on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly currently being held in New York City.

Al-Burhan briefed the Secretary-General of the United Nations on the crimes, violations and atrocities committed by the terrorist Rapid Support Militia against innocent citizens and their targeting of infrastructure, hospitals and public facilities,stressing the need for such violations and crimes to find clear condemnation from the international community, especially since they target defenseless civilians.

Al-Burhan affirmed the cooperation of the Government of Sudan with international and regional organizations working in the humanitarian field and providing everything that would facilitate the passage of humanitarian convoys and deliver relief to those in need, noting the government’s approval to open the Adre crossing on the border with Chad to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to those affected by the war.

Meanwhile, the UN Secretary-General called for an end to the war, an end to the suffering of the Sudanese, and the adoption of dialogue as a means of resolving the conflict in Sudan,praising the Sudanese government’s cooperation in delivering humanitarian aid to those affected by the war.
