Agar meets the Zimbabwean Ambassador

Deputy Head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Malik Aqar Ayreo, confirmed the depth and strength of the bilateral relations between Sudan and Zimbabwe in all fields.
He noted the government’s keenness to promote and develop these relations and push it to broader horizons. His Excellency indicated, when meeting with his office in Port Sudan, the Ambassador of the Republic of Zimbabwe to Sudan, Emmanuol Boko, the government’s keenness to bring peace to Sudan and to relieve the suffering of the Sudanese people.
For his part, Zimbabwe’s ambassador to Sudan affirmed his country’s solidarity with the government and people of Sudan.
He stressed that his country’s embassy in Port Sudan is working to dispel the misconception that Sudan has abandoned its African friends, especially Zimbabwe, which has been under economic pressure over the past 24 or 25 years, noting that in those years, the African peoples and the governments of countries did not abandon Zimbabwe because they are subject to economic sanctions. He said that Zimbabwe’s problem is no different from the conflict facing Sudan today.
The ambassador expressed his hope for more African solidarity and the expansion of the unity of the countries of the African continent.
